    Actually Waterproof! (Now snow tested.)
Bought these for walking my dog in the wet, rainy days in Seattle (which is most days). I’d purchased a pair of Adidas shoes that were quite comfortable but were soaked even just walking through dewy grass so I’ve been trying a few other pairs to see what works. These have kept my socks dry in wet grass, mud, and rain. They’re not as comfortable as that first pair (nothing I’ve bought since has been) but pretty comfy in their own right and well enough for my feet that get sore easily. And, as I said, they’re actually waterproof. So all around, they’re perfect for my needs.I’m a 7.5 in most shoes and purchased a 7.5 here. Fit as expected. There was one day where it was absolutely pouring, so much that I was completely soaked after about 60 seconds outside, and they did seem to get my socks a tiny bit wet around the ankle… seems like rain just got in the tops, not as if it had soaked through the shoe itself. Given the downpour, this seemed a reasonable outcome so I don’t hold it against the shoe at all. However, I mentioned it in case your use for this shoe would make that handy info to have.I’m about to buy a second pair so, definitely recommend if your use case is similar to mine.[UPDATED FEB 2025 – 1.5y later]Wore the first pair for about a year, for an average of about 2hrs of dog walking a day—rain, mud, light trails, etc.— and regular errands to and from the car, etc. The waterproofing easily lasted through the first winter and spring. A couple months into the 2nd fall/winter I noticed one foot getting a little bit wet around the pinky toe so I retired them and started using that second pair I’d bought previously. (The shoes themselves could have definitely continued on but I need the waterproofing as mentioned for my purposes.) I wish I’d kept better track for this update but I think it was about 9-10 months of actual rainy use, plus wet grass from sprinklers in the drier times. I’ve had other expensive waterproof shoes that lasted about half that. I’m very happy with that timeline, especially for the price. We also just had a ton of snow and my “new” pair (~3.5 months old now) have been equally amazing. My feet have been totally dry in various amounts of snow for the last few days.I’m buying enough of these to hoard in case they become unavailable. Seriously.

Comfortable Right Out of the Box
I love these waterproof Merrell sneakers. They are comfortable right out of the box, with no break-in period needed. I like how they hug the sides of my feet for a narrow, not clunky, look. (If your feet trend toward wide, you may find the medium width too narrow.) Because I have Merrell hiking shoes in size 9 and they are a little too big even when I wear thick socks, I ordered a 8.5; I’m between those two sizes and therefore ordered the smaller one in the Bravado 2. The 8.5 fits perfectly, with thick or thinner socks. If you’re solidly in one size, then these should fit true-to-size. For those between sizes, order the smaller of the two. These are indeed waterproof, despite how they look. Water beads on them and rolls off. I plan to use these as my main sneakers when I travel and expect to walk in rainy weather. The round laces are a bit of a pain since they can untie easily, but I solve that problem by double-knotting.– Debbie Lee Wesselmann

    Great waterproof sneaker
Definitely waterproof which is what I needed. Shoes are good looking and comfortable except I had to get used to the low back-my heel got a blister! Other than that I really like them

    not waterproof
After buying this pair in March, I went hiking in a damp weather. It was not even raining, but the grass was wet. Within minutes my feet were completely soaked.Otherwise the shoes are great, really comfortable with a great grip.

    Is really waterproof
I have struggled to find a truly waterproof shoe. I realize to be absolutely waterproof the shoe would need to be made of something like 100 percent rubber. I am not wading through rivers but I walk my dog in the rain and often the park we go to just has wet grass from sprinklers or dew. I went through so many reviews of shoes/brands that claimed to be waterproof but then I would read through the reviews and there were always these mixed reviews. Several people saying yes they are and then some saying they are not. How to know which are accurate? I stayed away from this brand for a long time because I have had one pair that lasted years but when I bought the second they just did not have the same quality and did not last long for the price they charged. I finally went with them because of all the brands and styles I looked at, these seemed like the best bet and were reasonably priced. Even though this one is like all the others and has several reviews saying they are not waterproof, I finally decided to try them. Not long after I got them, not only did I have a day of walking through wet grass, but several days in a row of rain, and these kept my feet dry! Maybe they will be like some I have read reviews on where they say they started out waterproof but somehow that waterproof “wears off” and then they aren’t anymore. That may be and will try and come back to update this but for now I am very pleased with these! They ran true to size for me. They are comfortable but again, I really was most interested in the waterproof feature and they have not disappointed me yet.

    Painful shoes!
Wow I’m surprised these shoes are so highly rated! I bought these back in January but only wore them once and they felt too tight and hurt my feet. I tried them again today now that it’s raining again and I’d like to keep my feet dry. I thought maybe I tied them too tight before so I tied them looser this time. Nope, I went to the coffee shop and took my order to go so I could come home and change my shoes, they hurt so bad! I’m normally a size 6 or 6.5 and ordered a size 7 based on other reviews saying to size up, so the width and length are ok. For me the tongue is too thick or stiff or something and just digs into the tops of my feet with every step I take. Both sides of the tongue on both feet, just hard jabs of pain every step! It’s like little marbles got sewn into the tongue and just jut out and indent the tops of my feet. Unfortunately I’m way outside of the return window but these are horribly uncomfortable shoes for me! I guess I’ll have wet feet over hurt and bruised feet.

Ordered 8W but it was too tight in the toe box. In the Merrell Moab 3 style the 8W is perfect for me because the toe box is more rounded (less pointy) and roomier. I ended up returning these Merrell Bravda shoes and ordered the Keen Circadian in an 8W instead and they are keepers, super comfy!

Geniales. Al comienzo pensé en cambiarlas por medio número más porque parece que me estaban un poco estrecha, pero en seguida en una caminata, se adaptaron perfectamente a mi pie. Super cómodas y no calan (solo las he usado en otoño).
